Gotta comment? Here are some ideas.....
Avoid one word comments....they don't really tell us anything.
2) If you were a film maker what could this be a sound track for? write a quick narrative..............be sure to tell us the setting.
3) You would like to make a different comment...........
I really love the first video, and they really look like they're having fun. I would really want to play my viola as awesome as those two play their cellos.I Love Orchestra!!! (I sent you the link for the first video! :D )
ReplyDeleteThey are all AMAZING!!!! I wish I could play like all of them! It's so inspiring to watch someone play an instrument like that. It makes me want to keep going on piano!
ReplyDeleteThis was kind of what I expected to hear and i liked it because it was not really sad but kind of jumpy!:)
ReplyDeleteI really love these videos because, especially the first one, they are not something you hear from everyday cello players. If I were a filmmaker, well, I would use the first music in something kind of like the amazing race because I personally think it makes you want to move. =) I have no idea what I would use the second music for because it's so different!
ReplyDeleteIt's funny that you chose this song. I know ALL the words and my dad LOVES this song! This would be a song during some kind of fighting scene when one hero stands out more than the rest. Also, it can be when someone is doing something that requires a lot of practice, like running somewhere really fast.
ReplyDeleteIn the first one, the 2 people were really into it, and that is what I liked about them. The 2nd video the men were really into it, but in a different way. They are the people I expect to be drummers. They have the log hair going and everything. I think this music is very happy, and each video has a different way of showing it.
ReplyDelete*They have the long hair going and everything.*
DeleteThe first one made the cello sound intense and this could be the sound track for a movie that shows some one persevering through life.
ReplyDeleteThe first one obviously would go with pirates of the Caribbean , while captain jack sparrow is making his escape of a run down jail sell
ReplyDeleteWOW!!! These cellists are really great! They performed a lot of shifting, and I haven't seen cellists to that much. In this piece, many glisses (sliding up and down the finger board in slow motion) were used, and that made the music sound really cool. While listening to this music, I thought of the Greek Olympic games since the music is intense, and sounds like someone pushing their limits to win. I wish I could do that with my viola (unluckily, I can't in probably less than 10 years)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat was really intense music! I really liked it and the videos are really different. In the second video I would have expected that the guys were in a rock band.
ReplyDeleteI thought the music was really cool, and it reminds me of "Flight from the Hills" from band, and a little bit of "Curse of the Rosin-Eating Zombies from Outer Space" in orchestra. Notice both titles use the word "from" which implies movement. I thought the music would go great with a Jaws-type movie, although nothing like Deep Sea Fandango.
ReplyDeleteI thought that it was interesting to see that the cello, usually a backround instrument, could get sooo intence. It just goes to show that some of the people who play those "backup" instruments can be the best soloists. It's kind of funny, because if I were to choose a stringed instrument to play, it would be the cello. Also, I think that this would go in some kind of comedy when the main character rises from the destruction, and throws a superfire ball attack onto his enemy........
ReplyDeleteI loved how much fun they looked like they were aving. The video really inspired me to not give up, because it must have taken them a long time to finally get it right. Words of Wisdom:"NEVER GIVE UP" :)
ReplyDeleteThat was amazing! Usually if I think of cellos I think of peaceful music, but in these videos the cellos sounded so intense. I think of this song being in some sort of action movie where there is a huge battle happening.
ReplyDeleteI thought it sounded like someone jumping obstacles and never getting caught on them. The song also reminds me of a winner doing a victory lap around an arena.
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid I've already found the amazingly-played piece I would like in a movie trailer, but this is lovely anyway.
ReplyDeleteI think the first one would belong in a scene where something elegant goes wrong. A... crashed... wedding? Ball? I don't know.
And the second belongs nowhere but on that stage. Or maybe some extremely action-y trailer. Many explosions should be involved.
I guess I wouldn't expect to hear playing like that, but it is definitely a great way to express another way of cello playing. A great factoid I like about the second video is they really express themselves. As a musician, it is important to find how a person wants to express their music, like Joshua Bell.
ReplyDeleteI thought both videos were absolutely fantastic! I am amazed of how good it sounded because I usually think of that song being played only by guitars, bass guitars, and drums. This variation might even be better than in a rock band!!! It was also interesting/cool to see how the musicians in the bottom video really got into it and moved around. I only wish I was talented enough to do something like that with my trumpet and piano. Maybe some day (with a whole lot of practice)......................
ReplyDeleteI really liked these videos, for they're not what you'd expect. I liked how dark and almost tough it was in the beginning then got the beat. These pieces of music are so encouraging and inspiring it makes me have such a new look at "classical" music. I liked how they are so similar yet different. They are the same song but, they are different in many ways including their rhythm and tempo. I now have a new respect for the cello and how people can play it.
ReplyDeleteWow. I have seen ppl good like that but I just think of all the work that goes into that and they must have spent countless hours perfecting that to make it sound so good.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was amazing! The second one helped me realize what was different about it. It doesn't sound like a orchestra instrument which it is.
ReplyDeleteIve Never heard so much passion in a song and wish I could now play the cello. There hands moved so fast like Zeuss thunder bolt.
ReplyDeleteIt crazy the sound you can get out of the small strings. They way the man played in the 2nd video, it looked like he was fighting the cello
ReplyDeleteYour right Ms.U, I've never thought of ppl ever using a cello like that! I liked the whole proformance in the second one, but I cant help but thinking that it just doesn't seem to be a song you would really flip your hair like that to.
ReplyDeleteThat was a great way to see a cello "outside the box." I agree with Kate that in the second video it seemed like the man was fighting with the cello. Also in the second video the cello's seemed so powerful and mighty.
