When you grow up...................
Yesterday we talked careers. Now see what you may earn and how you will be able to live should you fulfill your career dreams. Have fun!
When you comment - in full sentences - you can use the question(s) below to guide a response, or you can come up with your own comments.
Suggestions for comments: What did you learn? What surprised you? Did you see differences in expenses depending upon where you chose to live? What are some of the expenses you will have? Did you have to make adjustments to your future "lifestyle" based upon what you learned?

I learned many, many things. What surprised me the most is how much money I need to support myself. Also I mostly picked what I have right now like as a child and I realized how much my brother and I cost my parents..... Wow is all I can say.
ReplyDeleteI was surprised by the fact on how much it cost. It really makes me want to say thanks to my mon and dad for all they have done for me. Also, it helped me get a sense of what the real world is like which i enjoy a lot.
ReplyDeleteThat costs A Lot!!! It was mind-boggoling how much money just me by myself would cost!!! I am very very glad I have my parents to take care of me. I got a glimse of the real world and I didn't like it. I wish I could a stay in my little world forever. Don't you wish it was back to the olden days with money? I do.
ReplyDeleteThis just goes to show that as modern day technology advances, the need and demand grows with it. If you just stop to think about how much cheaper your monthly bill would be if there wasn't all these fancy new appliances, your mind would go crazy. Although, the world would be a different place if you didn't pay bills...Anyways, I enjoyed this sight and learned a lot.
ReplyDeleteWOW!I come with a lot of expenses that I never new. I'm just glad that I'm still young and that I have a long way to go. That just made me say how can you afford everything to my parents for all the expenses they have to pay. :D
ReplyDeleteWhat surprised me the most was how little being an author would buy. The only job that fit my salary and interests was a marketing Manager. If I need that much money to sustain myself in the future, I thank my parents for buying everything I need now!
ReplyDeleteWhat surprised me was that what came up was what I wanted to be. I guess that is just luck. I never knew that life costed this much!!! I guess I am going to start paying attention to how my parents handle it.
ReplyDeleteWOW!what suprised me was how much it costs to take care of your expenses. i really thank my Mom and Dad for taking care of my expenses and me. I happy that I'm not getting a job yet.
ReplyDeleteWhoa! The thing that had surprised me most was all the expenses! The job / industry was what I had been interested in was the one that could fit my yearly payment. I realize that it I so hard to run a household. There were very different costs depending on where we live. If we live in an apartment, we have to pay a lot more. It's really hard to pay for college too. I really thank my parents for all they have done for me.
ReplyDeleteI was surprised but not THAT surprised, because I found that having a house, going to college, and things like that are really covered because I plan to still live in fresno and I want to be a lawyer. I am definitley grateful that My mom does these things! This is an amazing site!

Wow, this is a lot of money it costs. The expenses made me really surprised. The fact that my mom and dad have to worry about all that stuff just wants to make me say thank you to them. This will help me for when I grow up. I am so lucky i am still young.
WOW!! I didn't know that everyday life objects could cost so much!!! Some of the results that came up for me were teachers and lawyers. I would love to be a teacher!!!!! I think it was interesting to find out how expensive the things I needed were.

Wow! I had no idea there were that many bills and expenses! I'm glad I don't have to pay bills and taxes yet! :)
Wow!!!! It costs around 70,000 dollars to uphold myself. It surprised me how much everyday items cost. It makes to go up to my mom right now and say thank you! My profession is zoology/animal biology. I would be so happy if I became one. Though 0% of Californians graduate... I hope I read that wrong! =(

That's a lot of expenses! Plus, my parents have to pay for all of my music lessons, and for my piano/violin rental, although they probably make more than 5,006 a month. It shows you how you have to be careful with your money, and if you really want something expensive, like a $35,000-$60,000 bassoon, you have to really learn how to save. It makes me thankful that my parents provide for me and that Mr. Hull rents instruments for free.
I was so surprised of how much just an average month cost! When I am on my own I will have to make MAJOR adjustment to the way I live. I am sooooo thankful to my parents for everything they do to provide for me. They must have worked really hard to get to the financial place they are right now!
ReplyDeleteMy interpretation is different from everybody. I looked up registered nurse, and I wasn't as surprised about taxes as much as I was surprised about the monthly income. I actually thought it was a lot of income. That's why my mom want's me to be a nurse! Even with this fact, I guess it's true that we have to pay a lot of tax.

Unfortunately, you have spent more money than what your selected career's salary can cover. If you like you can select a different career and conduct the exercise again. Otherwise, you can stick to this career and spend less.
This is what it said when I told it i wanted to be a zoo biologist....
Isn't that so sad? im going to try again! I didn't realize how expensive living is! Either it's really expensive or I just spend a lot of money.... :)

I know I am late, but I thought I had posted a comment (I forgot to click publish). It is really amazed me how much money I need to live happily for a year (97,000 dollars!). The jobs that fit my needs were a surgeon and an aerospace engineer. I chose to live in Orange County and everything seems extremely expensive there! While doing this activity, I was thinking how lucky I was to have my parents pay for my expenses. Well, hopefully real life will be at least a LITTLE cheaper than this!
ReplyDeleteWOW!!!! My annual salary needed was HIGH!! After i did my reality check i got see which jobs would suite me. I was most interested in being arts, drama, teacher. At first i didnt know what i wanted to be, but now after looking at what a art, drama teacher needs to know and what they do i am really interested in that job.
